The Wild Rose Water Bus

The Wild Rose Water Bus on Lough Gill If you fancy a leisurely cruise, visit a castle, a few pints and some witty and lively commentary, you can get it all by taking a trip on The Wild Rose Water Bus.

The Wild Rose Water Bus leaves the specially built jetty at the 17th century Parkes Castle, (co-ordinates 54.2645 -8.3338) situated on the northern shore of Lough Gill, about 7 miles from Sligo Town, taking a leisurely, informative and entertaining cruise across Lough Gill.

While relaxing on board with tea or coffee and light refreshments, you can listen to recitations of the poetry of William Butler Yeats, celebrating the lake and the Isle of Innisfree.

Enjoy the spectacular scenery from this wonderful vantage point, taking in Knocknarea, Benbulben, O'Rourke's Table and the jagged summits of the North Leitrim mountain range.

Cruises leave Parkes Castle daily from Easter until October at: 11:00am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm, with a bus transfer available upon request from Sligo Town.

A cruise on the Wild Rose Water Bus will be one of the most memorable cruises imaginable!
